Mother News Editorial October-2015

Dear Friends

Hatred, discord, jealously, fits of rage, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, etc. are not good qualities in life. Life is like a new grass which springs up in the morning and wither away in the evening.
Jealously is a complex of thoughts, feelings and actions which follow threats to self esteem and threat to the existence of the relationships, generated by the perception of a real or potential attraction between one's partner and rival. According to Spinoza, “Those who are believed to be most object and humble are usually most ambitious and envious.” Jealousy is forbidden by the laws of life because it is essentially destructive. It is cruel as the grave, it releases anger, and it is the greatest and the ultimate enemy of oneself.
Bob Marley attributes, “Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you are riding through the ruts, without complicating your mind, flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don’t burry your thoughts, But put your vision to reality. Wake up and live!”
It is important to keep the surroundings as well as self into a positive state, by making positive people surround you and negative and jealous people, away from you. It is said that more men die of jealousy than of cancer. The jealous are troublesome to others, but a torment to themselves. If you cannot love yourself, you will not believe that you are loved. You take your eyes off others and turn the scanner within, you will find the seeds of your jealously, clear the old voices and experiences, put all the energy into building your personal and emotional security. Then you will be the one others envy and you can remember the pain and reach out to them. Jealousy is like salt in the food. A little can enhance the savour, but too much can spoil the pleasure and under certain circumstances can be life threatening.
Shakespeare's play "Othello" is a typical illustration for jealousy which is largely driven by a grand love story filled with jealousy. Through the juxtaposition of Othello’s credulous nature and Lago's pernicious villainy (two characters) the image of jealousy is truly personified as an all-consuming "green eyed monster". Because of this venomous nature of the beast of jealousy, the events of the play manage to unfold in Lago's lustful authority, which bring down the eponymous character to his tragic downfall. He narrates jealousy as a beast with venomous nature, and the feelings of jealousy as a contagious disease which spreads and  spoils the human mind. Jealousy and envy lurks at the bottom of the human heart like a viper in its hole-says Honora de Balzac.
Let us not hate people who are jealous, but respect their jealousy because they are the ones who think you are better than them. When someone is hating you, it is not about you, it is about them, it is about their fear, their jealousy, their boredom and their insecurity. Hence, let us live in joy, peace, love, hope, humanity, kindness and truth, which are good qualities for a blissful living.
